My computer is going v-e-r-y s-l-o-o-o-o-w-l-y… in fact I started this post 22 years ago, on a BBC computer at school. Unfortunately, as a result, I’ve forgotten what I was going to say!

Didn’t quite make it…
Unfortunately I’ve had to leave my dad to wander to Birmingham and visit Alan Titchmarsh et al without me today. I’ve got a lot on at the moment and was getting a bit anxious about wandering off for the day (despite it being my day off) with so much to get done *and* I’m feeling a bit under the weather so actually have managed to not move much further than the armchair for a good part of the day! (Good job thinking and list making can take place from an armchair!).
Still, I would like to thank arti, bimble and farli for their excellent photographic suggestions – I will store them for next year!
Wiblingly wonderful ideas wanted…
Later this week I’m going to the Gardener’s World Live Exhibition, with my dad, at Birmingham NEC. We go together each year and it’s lovely to have time with dad, to enjoy the plants, gardens, bustle, random garden stuff and opportunities to just people-watch and chill out. It won’t be much of a spend-up this year, but it’s still a good day. Of course I have enjoyed, in previous years, coming home from the day with a load of plants and random things for the garden (or house) – the year before last I came home with two stone elephants!*
So, this year I have a bit of a plan… I like to take a few piccies while I’m there (see 2006 Part 1 and 2006 Part 2 with a beer theme) but I thought this year I would invite suggestions** so I go armed with a list of potential pictures which I’ll come back and blog – you can then share in my NEC experience! You know, something like: A cup of tea, Alan Titchmarsh, a load of daffs, a bus, a lump of metal pretending to be a modern garden, a strawberry… that kind of thing. This little diversion will then divert*** me from the fact that I’d like a chimonea but can’t afford one just yet! So, what shall I photograph then…? Be creative!
*I do have a thing about elephants – there are quite a few of them in my house – but not real ones of course. The two stone ones were (not surprisingly) supposed to be for the garden, but I had visions of one of them coming back indoors for a visit through the window so they live in the lounge!
**Inappropriate suggestions will be deleted!
***as diversions generally do
